CHURCH LITERARY SOCIETIES

MT. ALBERT PRESBYTERIANS An attendance which almost filled the Mount Albert Presbyterian Church Hall last evening, despite unfavourable weather, listened to an interesting address under the auspices of the church’s literary society. The topic dealt'with, Edinburgh and its surroundings, and various parts of Scotland, including the Orkney Islands, the lecturer being Mr. J. Learmonth. The speaker, who was very interesting and informative, illustrated his remarks by a large number of limelight views, prepared by himself. At the conclusion of his lecture. Mr. Learmonth was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. The minister, the Rev. W. D. Morrison Sutherland, presided.
