“CASE OF SERGEANT GRISCHA”
COMING TO STRAND The film of the famous war novel, “The Case of Sergeant Grischa,” is coming to the Strand Theatre shortly. The famous film reviewer, Lee Marcus, wrote of this production: “.Herbert Brenon’s ‘Sergeant Grischa’ is the finest picture that has yet been made in sound. It is a genuine privilege to be able to write about a picture of this character. This picture will do Radio Pictures infinite good. It will enhance their prestige. “Grischa will be to the dramatic field what ‘Rio Itita’ was to the musical field. This company made the first real good musical production in ‘Rio Rita.’ It was the outstanding musical show of the season. ‘Sergeant Grischa* is its complement in the dramatic field. Grischa will be the outstanding dramatic picture of the year. It contains the finest acting yet seen on the screen, the voice production is perfect, the direction is marvellous, Herbert Brenon has extended himself as never before. The story in itself is tremendous, with a world-embracing theme that sweeps you along from one dramatic climax to another. In fact. Grischa is the greatest drama you have ever seen it is stupendous, unusual, daring, brilliant. “This picture will upset every precedent so far established in the motion picture world.”
