CAREER HAMPERED
FRENCH WOMAN LAWYER HAS FACE INJURED A Paris court has accepted the argument that the stock in trade of an attorney is his eloquence, his dialectics, his knowledge of the law, but that if the attorney be a woman there must be added good looks. Mile. Solange Monclere is a young member of the Paris Bar. In an automobile accident recently she suffered injuries to the face which left a rather large sear on the right cheek. She sued the motorist and claimed damages on the plea that the scar would hamper her in the exercise of her profession. The court accepted the plea and assessed the damages at 46,000 francs.
