THIEF AT EPSOM
TWO HOUSES ENTERED Between eight and nine o'clock in The evening, two houses in Market Hoad, Epsom, were entered by a thief. The sum of £5 in notes was stolen trom a handbag in one house, but the burglar was evidently disturbed in the second house while in the act of rifling a drawer. In the first house a handbag was Removed from a front bedroom. The loss was not discovered until next day "’hen the empty bag was found at the tear of the house. No noise was heard during the night. In the case of the other house, the owner and his son heard a slight noise shortly after eight o’clock. Before could locate the sound the front door was heard to shut as the intruder made a hurried exit. Entry was gained by means of a "Window.
