COLLISION AT OTAHUHU
CAR BADLY DAMAGED LORRY WITHOUT NUMBER A. motor-car, owned and driven by Mr. William Joseph Castles, o£ Weymouth, was considerably damaged at (he junction of Panmure Road and the Great South Road. Otahutm. yesterday afternoon, through a collision with a large motor-lorry, the driver of which is unknown. Mr. Castles was travelling toward town, and intended to go down Panmure Road, when the motor-lorry, travelling south struck him broadside on. One side of the car was crushed In. and the running-board was torn off, and the chassis twisted. The driver of the car was not injured. Nobody witnessed the accident, but the noise of the collision soon attracted a large crowd. As soon as the vehicles were separated, the driver of the lorry lost no time in continuing his journey, before he gave his name. When some of those present tried to get his number, it was found that there was no rear number plate on the lorry, which was of the two-decker type used for conveying sheep.
