M. BROWNLIE FINISHED?
RETIREMENT OF ALL BLACK CAPTAIN REPORTED GREAT RUGBY CAREER Special to THE SUN PALMERSTON N., Wed. It is stated that Maurice Brownlie, who captained the All Blacks in South Africa in 1928, has retired from the game. Brownlie is to be married on June 17. Maurice Brownlie is one of three brothers, all of whom represented New Zealand. He first wore an All Black jersey in 19E2, and was the outstanding forward of "the famous 1924 All Blacks. Many judges place him second only to C. Seeling as one of the greatest forwards New Zealand has ever produced.
