YEARLINGS AT WORK
N. CUNNINGHAM’S PAIR
Usually at this time of the year trainers commence on yearlings placed under their care, and at persent several Ellerslie mentors are handling rising two-year-olds, while others are contemplating taking up their new additions.
Possibly the most attractive yearling to put in an appearance at headquarters is the one under N. Cunningham’s guidance,' a filly by Limond from March, the property of Mr. Norman Walters, who bred the youngster at his Otahuhu farm. Built on shapely lines and with size to recommend her, the filly is bred well enough to ■win anything. One need only mention that she is a half-sister to the doughty Te Kara, Kudus and Queen March, to invest her career with unusual interest.
The same trainer also has under his care, a filly by Valkyrian—Malaria. Unlike most of Valkyrian’s young stock, she bears a robust appearance.
