CONTROL BOARD RECONSTRUCTS SECOND GRADE CHATHAM CUP ENTRIES At a meeting of the Control Board of the Auckland Football Association last evening, Mr. A. Menzies presiding, four entries were received for the Chatham Cup competition, namely, Tramways, Manurewa, Y.M.C.A. and Thistle. Owing to complaints from second grade teams about excessive travelling, it was decided to abolish the sectional scheme, and make one grade of 13 teams, with a new draw. This will remove much of the dissatisfaction caused by travelling, as town teams would now meet country sides at less frequent intervals. The re-draw decided on by the meeting necessitated a complex reconstruction of lower grade fixtures. € THE FIXTURE LIST Te_ following matches will be played on Saturday under the control of the Auckland Football Association* Senior Grade A.—Y.M.C.A. v. SOUTH AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION From Our Own Correspondent HAMILTON, Tuesday. At the executive meeting of the South Auckland Football Association last evening, advice was received from the New Zealand Association that no Brown Shield challenges had been received. It was* decided to defer the matter before arranging for a match on June 3.

It was resolved to advise Huntly Thistle that the majority of clubs are opposed to financing local Chatham Cup winners, chiefly through lack of funds.
