FISCHER ON BAIL
MARORO VOYAGE CASE ADJOURNED DESTITUTION OF WIFE Hugh Eugene Fischer, the central figure in the adventurous voyage of the Auckland cutter Maroro to the Pacific Islands, ap-pea-red on remand again in the Police Court this morning. F. K. Hunt, S.M., consented to allow Fischer out on bail under his own bond. The charge made against Fischer, an engineer, 49 years old, born in Germanv, was that he stole, at Auckland on November IS, the cutter Maroro, valued at £350 and the property ol Laurence Pitcher. Fischer was described as having no fixed place of abode. In asking for a further remand. Mr. Alan Moody, for Fischer, said the accused had been in custody and had not been able to arrange for ball. There would be no objection raised in allowing Fischer out of custody on his own bond. ■'Fischers wife Is destitute and he may be able to secure some assistance for her.” said Mr. J.
