45 YEARS OF SERVICE

INSURANCE MANAGER TO RETIRE MR. DIDSBURY’S CAREER A career of 45 years in the service of the New Zealand Insurance Company will close at the end of the month, when Mr. H. M. Didsburv, manager of the Auckland branch since 1920, will retire.' Born in Wellington, Mr. Didsburv joined that branch of the company in ISSS, and two years later was seleeced to open a branch at New Plymouth. When the new branch was successfully operating he was transferred to Perth, Western Australia, and from there to India, but ill-health compelled him to relinquish that post after two years, and he was again selected to open a new branch, this time at Bendigo. In 1912 he was appointed manager at Napier and in 1918 manager at Dunedin.

In 1920 Mr. Didsburv was appointed manager of the Auckland branch and during the ten years he has earned the high esteem, not only of his colleagues, but also of insurance men generally, for the ability and foresight he has displayed in his work, the results of which have been reflected in the opera - tions and growth of the branch. In the last ten years Mr. Didsburv has taken his full share in the work of the Fire Underwriter s’ Association and the Fire Board. Mr. Didsburv will continue to live in Auckland.
