ENGINE HITS CAR
WOMAN BADLY INJURED TRAPPED IN CATTLE STOPS Press Association • • • LEVIN, Today. In a. collision between a motor-car and a train at Ohau last evening Mrs. J. Johnston, of Ellice Street, Wellington, had- her foot so badly injured that "amputation was necessary. The car was driven by her husband, who at a diagonal crossing mistook the lights of an oncoming train for those of a car and did iiot hear the whistle. The car ran on to the cattle-stop and the occupants were getting out , when Mrs. Johnston was struck by the engine. The • car was thrown off the cattle-stop, but was not badly damaged. The injured woman was brought to Levin. Eler condition this morr f was satisfactory.
