ONCE WORLD CHAMPION
W. A. BARRY—SCULLERDIES IN ENGLAND Reed. 12.40 p.m. LONDON, Sunday, The death is announced of W. A. Barry, ex-English champion sculler and father of Bert Barry, present world’s champion. W. A. Barry was a member of a famous sculling family. His brother, Krnest Barry, was beaten by the New Zealander, Dick Arnst, for the world’s championship on the Zambesi in 1910, but two years later he won the title. Bert Barry, a son of W.A., beat Major Ooodsell at Vancouver in 1928 for the world’s championship.
