TOURS IN N.Z.
SUGGESTIONS TO COUNCIL Press Association WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The council of the New Zealand Football Association met this evening. The Australian Football Association, referring to the itinerary submitted for a tour of Australia by a New Zealand team of primary school boys, said the itinerary was proposed without a knowledge of suitable dates. Mr. P. Harrison, of Auckland, wrote that he was against combining the boys’ team with a senior team. He would be in Wellington in May and hoped to visit the South Island also in order that he might see the boys playing, and make a selection. The boys could not go until the August holidays. The Southland Association submitted a remit for the annual meeting next Monday that future selections of representative teams bo made by a North Island and a South Island selector, the latter to be a resident of Otago, and that prior to the final selection a North V. South Island match be played. The Auckland Football Association
had already nominated Mr. P. Neesham for the position of selector for the New Zealand team to visit Australia, and wrote nominating Mr. F. Campbell as manager, suggesting that the position of assistant-manager should be offered to the selector when appointed. Auckland further sent in the following remit for the annual meeting: “That application be made to the English Football Association for leave to require the replacement of injured players in New’ Zealand.’
