Obituary
MR. W. B. ENTWISTLE After a brief illness, Mr. William Rowley Entwistle, of Birkenhead, died yesterday art the age of 66. For the last 20 years he had been an engineer on the Birkenhead ferry steamers. He was actively interested in music and was a member of the BirkenheadNorthcote Orphans’ Club. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Messrs. R. and H. Entwistle, and three daughters. MRS. G. HAYDOCK The death has occurred of Mrs. Gertrude Haydock, Motint Eden, at the age of 55. Mrs. Haydock was the wife of Mr. Edward Haydock* who for many years was instructor in engineering at the Seddon Memorial Technical College. He was responsible for erecting the clock on the Ferry Buildings. Mrs. Haydock is survived by two sons, Messrs. B. and R. Haydock. Her brother is Mr. V. Ryder. MR. S. F. MEIKLEJOHN The death occurred on Tuesday of Mr. Serjeant Frederick Meiklejohn, M.A., a. master at the Mount Albert Grammar School. Mr. Meiklejohn, who was 28 years of age, gained a university scholarship at the Auckland Grammar School in 1919 and. studying at the Auckland University College, won the John Tinline scholarship, a senior scholarship in English. He graduated with honours in English and joined the teaching staff at the Mount Albert Grammar School.
