Several newspaper in London refer to the proposed unveiling ceremony of a memorial at Serajevo to Gavrilo Princip, the slayer of the Grand Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria. They say it will be one of the most remarkable in history, and that it will amount to an affront to the world. The memorial is to be placed on the exact spot where Princip stood when lio tired the fatal shot. In that part of Serajevo a quayside already bears the name “Princip.” The deed of the young assassin also is signalised by an imposing tomb and tablet in another portion of the town. On the tablet, are the words: “To the patriot who liberated his country from the oppressor.” The tablet to be unveiled tomorrow will be the third memorial erected bearing Princip’s name and portrait, it was the intention of the Black Hand organisation to erect a magnificent monument of a pretentious aud belli gerent type, but owing to the intervention of King Alexander, who possibly guessed the effect such a. di, play would have abroad, that idea was abandoned.

Great preparations are in hand for tomorrow’s ceremony, which is to be made the occasion for widespread festivities.
