On the Tracks Again The five-year-old mare Restaurant has made a reappearance at Ellerslie under the direction of W. Gall. In the early spring she was accorded treatment for a short period until she went amiss, but hopes are now* entertained j that the daughter of Romeo will surj vive a preparation. At Matamata | L. Dulieu has engagements on Taumai and St. Warrigal at Matamata on Saturday, and it is probable that E. Ludlow will ride the promising Bells of Shandon. Taranaki Rides The Auckland light-weight jockey, H. Wiggins, has made the following i engagements for the Taranaki fixture on Thursday:—Rose Lupin. Perennis, Dolomite, Hopwood and Kawhakina. Following on Taranaki Wiggins will attend the Wanganui meeting. Under New Trainer The Ellerslie trainer, 11. Jury, lias decided to forgo his trainer's licence for a period, and the two-year-old under his charge, Karangapai, has been handed over to J. Chisholm. Karangapai, a son of Peach Brandy and Star Attraction, made his turf debut on the first day at Takapuna. where he raced satisfactorily without drawing attention to his future prospects. He is a nice youngster, however. and later on may be expected to play his part right well. Leaving for Taranaki ! Auckland stables claim a strong rei presentation at the Taranaki Jock y Club’s summer meeting on Thursday, and Saturday and more than one winner at the gathering promises to hail from this quarter of the globe. J. T. Jamieson leaves by the second express this evening with probably four candidates, viz.. In the Shade, Treasurey, Eaglet and either Hard Words or Havaspot. Corinax goes down bysteamer today to represent J. Williamson in the Cup. and others understood to be making the trip today are M. J. Carroll (Paganelli), H. Cook (Te Hoia and Pegaway) and H. L. Russell (Perennis and Rose Lupin). AT TAKAPUNA SUCCESSFUL TRAINERS AND JOCKEYS TAKANINI STABLE ON TOP Sixteen races were decided at the Takapuna Jockey Club’s summer meeting and the winners came from 11 different stables, J. T. Jamieson being the most successful trainer with three wins, while P. A. Swney, R. Hannon and W. Townsend each claimed two winners. The list of winning trainers is as follows: J. T. Jamieson (Takanini). —Hard Words (2) and Mithra. P. A. Swney (Te Aroha). —Honiton (2). W. Townsend (Pukekohe). —Royal Doulton and Haviland. R. Hannon (Cambridge).—King’s Guard and Tuku. W. J. McLean (Cambridge).— Luminary. E. Pope (Takanini). —Prince of Orange. F. E. Loomb (Te Awamutu).— Prodice. R. E. Brown (Ellerslie). —Kawainga. EL George (New Plymouth).—Lady Quex. M. Rama (Ellerslie). —Taneriri. *A. Tinker (Te Rapa).—Valuation. Three Wins Apiece The riding honours at the meeting were shared by H. Gray* and K. Voitre, who were both associated with three winners.
