CHILD HIT BY TRAIN

thrown clear of wheels A narrow escape from death was experienced by the little son of Mr. Fischer, of Clayburn Road, Glen Eden, when he was hit by a goods train at the Eden View railway crossing at Glen Eden at 8.30 this morning. The boy was thrown clear of the line and escaped with minor bruises. The promptitude of the driver, who quickly applied the brakes and pulled the train up, probably saved the boy's life.
