QUIET WEDDING

MISS COAD MARRIED AT THAMES EDGINTON—COAD A quiet wedding was celebrated at the Methodist Church, Thames, on Wednesday, when Myrtle Annis, daughter of Mrs. AV. Coad, of Mackay Street, was married to Dr. William James Edginton, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Edginton, of Riccarton, i Christchurch. The Rev. W. A. Burley performed 1 the ceremony, assisted by the Rev. J. I Blight, of Auckland. ; Given away by her uncle, Mr. W. jF. Claxton, the bride had chosen a ! frock of ivory georgette, the flared I skirt with its uneven hemline falling from a straight bodice. The hips were swathed, and finished with a buckle or diamente. A lovely veil of limerick lace was worn, held with sprays of orange blossom, and she carried an armlet of cream roses and dahlias, relieved with palest pink carnations and maidenhair fern. , In attendance were Miss Gladys Claxton and Miss Miro Coad. The Lormer was in a pretty l'rock of biscuit georgette, having a pouched bodice and skirt trimmed with rose-tipped ruchings. A large biscuit-coloured hat had rose-coloured trimmings, and she car- ; riecl it bouquet of pink blossoms. xVxiss Coad wore a frock of deipiiiniuiu blue georgette, with a straight j bodice ana long, lull skirt, having , small, rose-picoted ruchings. Her hat was of blue, showing touches of ; pale rose, and she carried a bouquet i to tone. ! Air. M. Edginton, of Invercargill, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, Mr. V. Rowe, oi Thames, acting j as groomsman. A reception was held later at the j residence of Mr. and Mrs. I*. IT. Clax- ; ion, of Parawai, Mrs. Claxton receivj ing her guests in a frock of black I crepe de chine, with touches of mastic ! and a black hat. A bouquet of pah mauve-flowers was carried. Mrs. Coad was in ;t frock of floral murocain. relieved with cherry, under j a navy bengaline coat, with a bangkok I hat of the same shade. She carried a bouquet in cherry tints. Mrs. Edginton's frock was of navy crepe morvao, with insets of floral | chenille. Her hat was of navy bang- | kok straw, and she carried a bouquet ; of autumn-tinted flowers.
