In referring to the Herbert Smith trophy, which the trustees ha*J awarded to the society, with a miniature, Mr. Barlass stated, that the conditions at present allowed for it beir.g won by local children between the ages of nine and 15 years. As they hoped to continue the meetings annually they would endeavour, he saal, to have the conditions altered to mak* It. an open trophy for competitors ol North Auckland. He expressed the opinion that the sports in future should take the name of “North Auckland Highland Games” if no objection was raised. They would try «?nd organise these meetings, to be held every Anniversary Day, under the New Zealand Highland and Piping Association’s and other sporting organisations.
