WHOLESALE MURDER

MAN SUICIDES AFTER KILLING FIVE HECTIC TEN MINUTES Reed. 1 p.m. MARSEILLES, Friday. Presumably insane owing to domestic worries. Joanes Harountunin, aged 43, an Armenian labourer, ran and killed five persons and seriously injured two. He suicided within 10 minutes. He walked out of his lodgings, met an Armenian whom he fatally shot with a revolver. Without a word, he rushed back home, wounded his wife, entered a neighbour’s place and murdered an 85-year-old woman and her two daughters, dangerously injuring a third. The husband of one of the dead women ran in and met a bullet through his heart. Harountunin then walked to the Terrace and blew out his brains.
