MYSTERIOUS DEATH
CORONER ADMITS HE IS BAFFLED NO INDICATION OF CAUSE Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Today. That there was no indication as to how he met his death was the verdict returned by Mr. E. D. Mosley, the coroner, yesterday at the inquest concerning the death of John James Michael Barrett, aged 41, a labourer, who was found dead in bed’at, his house, 104 Queen Street, Sydenham, on January 12. “It is an impasse, as far as the cause of death is concerned.” remarked the coroner. “It is the first time in my experience of hundreds of inquests that I have had to give a verdict like this.” The police said the man had been dead some time when found, and it was impossible to see if there were any marks of violence.
