FATHER O’HARA The death has occurred in Christchurch of Father O’Hara, aged 63, of. Beckenham Parish. He was formerly of Ashburton and Kumara.— P.A. MR. W. W. ROBINSON * The death has occurred at Wellingborough, Ungland, of Mr. William Wills Kobinson, who left Auckland 30 years ago. While in Auckland Mr. Robinson was in business and was well known in cricket, football and walking circles as an all-round athlete and sportsman. MISS A. BURNS Miss Agnes Burns, the last surviving- member of a well-known pioneer family in the Otago district, died at Dunedin on Monday. She was the only unmarried member of the family of the Rev. Thomas Burns, the first Presbyterian minister in Otago. She had lived in Dunedin all her life, and saw the transformation from a tiny settlement to a leading city. MRS. GEORGE LITTLE After a residence in the neighbourhood of Ngaruawahia of well over half a century, M.rs. George Little died on Saturday last, at the age of 85 years. Born at Pettigoe, County Donegal, Ireland, in the year 1844, she arrived in Auckland by the ship Broderick Castle over 53 years ago. She went to Te Kowhai shortly after her arrival, married Mr. George Little, and took up land on the Te Puroa Road. Mr. Little died some years ago. Mrs. Little stayed on in the old homestead with her daughter Margaret. Until recently she enjoyed fair health, but a bad fall a few weeks ago fractured her thigh, and hastened her death. She is survived by her son, Mr. J. Little, of Te Puroa, and Miss Margaret Little. Her other son, William George, was killed in the Great War, and on© daughter, Mrs. R. R. Skewes, predeceased her. ARCHDEACON C. L. TUKE • Archdeacon C. L. Tuke, at one time j Archdeacon of Tauranga and Canon of Waiapu, died at his home in Omahu Road, Remuera, yesterday, at the age of 71. Born in England, Mr. Tuke came to New Zealand as a youth, and, after training at St. John’s College, Auckland, was ordained as a deacon in 1881 and a priest in ISS2, his first appointment being to St. John’s, Napier, where he was curate from 1881 to 1883. From there he went to All Saints’ Church, being vicar there for j 10 years, and was later stationed at Waipukurau and Napier. In 1916 he was made Archdeacon and Vicar of | Tauranga, where he stayed until he ; went to Ellerslie in 1921. He retired i two years later, but continued to assist with the work at St. Mark’s, ReMr. Tuke was a keen cricketer and was a representative of the Hawke’s Bay district. He was also a membe: of the Remuera Bowling Club. As * flower-lover he was well-wnown at shows, where he took many prizes, i He is survived by his wife and a ; grown-up family.
