ROXY

TALKIE PROGRAMMES This evening sees the final presentation of the big double-feature talkie programme which has been delighting audiences at the Hoxy Theatre during the past week. The films are “High Voltage,” starring William. Boyd in a powerful drama of fugitives from justice who are marooned in a small hut during a snowstorm, also “The Shady Lady,” starring Phyllis Haver. This is an unusual story of a society girl’s double life, contrasting colourful society settings with the strong drama of the underworld. Both these films are talkies. From tomorrow an entirely new talkie programme will be presented at the Roxy. The chief attraction will be “The Girl in the Show,” a fascinating tale of stage life, a romance interspersed with many thrilling episodes, portrayed by a large cast, beaded by Bessie Love, star of “Broadway Melody.”
