WINS CHIEF EVENT AT REEFTON TROTS Special to THE SUN REEFTON, Monday. The annual fixture of the Inangahua Trotting Club was held today in fine weather and before a good attendance. Heavy rain overnight rendered the track soft. The totalisator showed a decrease of £791 on last year’s turnover, the figures for the day being £5,689 as against £6,480 in 1928. The Trotting Club Handicap proved a good thing for the Greymouth-trained Great Author. Jim Jarden’s pacer wa.s a warm favourite and won with ridiculous ease. Hals well Queen was in fine form, capturing a double for J. Davidson, and the Canterbury reinsman added another to his list with Bonora. The second leg of the double was won by another Strong fancy in Ecstasy, with Black Wattle, who was runner-up in the big event, again beaten into second place. Ecstasy was also favourite in the saddle heat, but succumbed to Loco. The Reef-ton-trained Child Boy scored in the Progress Trot, and T. Bennett produced the winner of the novice event with Vican. In this race the favourite, Lorette Napoleon, and Major Brent fell, the drivers escaping serious injury. Results are as follow" Welcome Handicap, of £100; 15 miles.— 4 Vican (T.
