New Year Trotting at Addington
GOOD FIELDS CANTERBURY PARK CARD While Aucklanders are today witnessing the “wind-up" of a great trotting carnival at Alexandra Park, Canterbury, enthusiasts will have their turn tomorrow (New Years Day), and Thursday, when Addington will once more be the centre of activities. „, T ° t tlle Canterbury Park Trotting *- lub belongs the privilege of opening the year 1930 with an attractive lightharness carnival. The schedule has been framed on lines that enticed a large number of Southern owners to liberally patronise the function consequently the fields are large. Quantity is however not the only strong point about the acceptance list, as quality is also well represented. The engagement of two well-known Auckland representatives in Etta Cole and Diilon Huon will give local enthusiasts additional interest in the function, and botli are expected to perform satisfactorily on the dirt track. Introductory Handicap Eva Reta, Scuttle, Accumulator and King Voyage should be troublesome off the front, while Jock Bingen, if he goes square, may beat the limit lot Admiral Bingen and Great Nelson are a good pair of improvers, and will give a lot of cheek, and may be the elect of backers.
