BABY DROWNED

FATALITY DURING MOTHER’S BRIEF ABSENCE ACCIDENT AT DEVONPORT A most unusual and sad fatality occurred at Devonport last evening when the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Neison, of 19 Mozley Avenue, was accidentally drowned in his bath. It was about 6.30 o’clock when the fatality happened. Mrs. Neison had bathed her two elder children and was bathing the baby, Donald, aged 15 months, when she left the bathroom for a moment to attend to the other children, who were going to bed. On returning she found the baby floating in the bath. Artificial respiration was immediately commenced by Mr. Neison. Dr. Trevor de Clive Lowe was summoned, but on his arrival it was found that the infant was dead.
