RABBIT-SKIN SLUMP
SERIOUS PRICE DECLINE
FROM 30 TO 50 PER CENT. Press Association DUNEDIN, Today. The rabbitskin sales in Dunedin yesterday showed a serious price decline of from 30 to 50 per cent. The temporary cessation of buying by furriers is attributed to the worldwide financial stringency connected with the American stock slump, the Hatry group losses in England and the money hunger reported from the Continent.
LONDON WOOL SALES The Bank of New Zealand has received the following advice from its London office under date 4th inst.: “The sales have closed firm for all kinds of wool. Current quotations: Merino, super, 16£d to lSd; ordinary, 14d to 15d; inferior, lid to 12id. Halfbred, 155 d to 17d. Crossbred, fine, 141 d to 151 d; medium, 13ld to 14d; coarse, 13d to 133 d.
