VEIL OF EMBROIDERED BRUSSELS NET CHOSEN BY TE AWAMUTU BRIDE

A BEADED WEDDING GOWN

SMITH—QUIN A wedding that created quite a lot of interest in Te Awamutu took place on Saturday last at St. Patrick’s Church. The contracting parties were Miss Maura Hughes Quin, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Quin, of “Islabank,” Te Awamutu, and Mr. Henry Knowles Smith, Te Awamutu, and formerly of Pahiatua. The Rev. Father Bleakley, of Hamilton, officiated. The service was fully choral, and Miss P. North was at the organ. Mrs. C. Corboy was the vocal soloist. The church had been charmingly decorated for the occasion by the friends of the bride. The bride chose for her toilette a beautiful frock of ivory georgette, embroidered in pink and white beads, Early Victorian style. Clusters of orange blossom at the side of the head fastened the embroidered brussels net veil, long in the back to form a train. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, who gave her away. Miss Margaret M. Quin attended her sister as bridesmaid, wearing a pink georgette dress, with three-tiered flared skirt and picture crinoline hat to tone. The bride’s bouquet consisted of blue and pink flowers, delphiniums and roses predominating, -while the bridesmaid’s bouquet was of pale pink and pale blue sweet peas and roses. Mr. H. Focke acted as best man, and little Noel Cox (Hamilton), a cousin of the bride, was page boy, being dressed in a suit of forget-me-not blue taffeta. , At the close of the ceremony .nuptial Mass was celebrated, and the guests then adjourned to the Parish Hall. Mrs. Quin received her guests in a navy blue and grey embroidered ensemble suit of georgette, with bangkok hat.
