Kitchen Evening for Bride-to-Be
BIRKENHEAD PARTY MUSIC AND DANCING A pleasant kitchen evening was given by Mrs. Standen. in the Foresters’ lodge-room, Birkenhead, on Saturday evening, in honour of the approaching marriage of Miss Alice Bland and Mr. George Turrell. The evening was spent in games, competitions and dancing. Musical items given by) Miss Thelma Bentley were greatly appreciated. The hall looked gay with its decorations of colo'ured streamers. The hostess, Mrs. Standen, received her guests wearing a frock of blue georgette with flared skirt. Miss A. Bland chose black crepe de chine relieved with white. Those also present included: Mrs. Bland, sen., black silk; Mrs. Bland, cornflower blue crepe de chine; Mrs. Pugh, navy blue georgette* with handkerchief pointed skirt; Mrs. Johrson, biscuit crepe de chine with uneven hem; Mrs. Spencer, lime georgette and gold lace; Mrs. Vincent, blue crepe de chine; Mrs. Moon, mauve crepe de chine: Mrs. Thomas, black satin and shawl; Mrs. Kidd, blue silk frock; Mrs. Tonson, fawn rayon; Mrs. Sowden, lemon taffeta; Miss I. Tonson, pink crepe de chine; Miss T. Bentley, apricot georgette, with uneven hern; Miss I. Thomas, pink crepe de chine and lace. Miss P. Soutter was wearing a shell pink georgette frock; Miss R. Soutter, rose crepe de chine; Miss R. Lewis, green crepe de chine, relieved with cream lace; Miss Mae Stanley, cherry crepe de chine with apricot shawl; Miss O. Mentzer, pink geoi-gette and lace, with black shawl; Miss ID. Lawler, flame crepe de chine and silver lace.
