AMENDMENTS IN COMPANIES ACT At a recent meeting’ of the executive and investigation committee of the New Zealand Society of Accountants. held in Wellington, it was reported that the society had been in communication with the Government concerning proposed amendments to the Companies Act. It was advised that efforts would be made to set up a committee with representatives from the Law Society and the Society of Accountants to report to the Government on the proposed amendments to the Act. The committee also decided to urge again on the Attorney-General the necessity of making .amendments to the regulations governing the audit of solicitors’ trust accounts. The committee dealt with a complaint lodged against'a member of the society, alleging acts discreditable to an accountant. The member having been found guilty it was resolved to exclude him from membership. Tho resignation of Air. T. Anton as a member of the council, in view of his transfer to Christchurch, was received, with regret.
