AWAKENED BY BURGLAR
PAPATOETOE WOMAN’S EXPERIENCE MONEY STOLEN While ransacking the drawers of a sideboard at the residence of Mr. A. B. Stones, Kimptan Road, Papatoetoe, at about 9.45 p.m. last evening, a burglar was disturbed by Mrs. Stones, who was sleeping in the room and was awakened by the noise. She immediately switched on an electric torch, and got a view of the intruder before he made his escape. On making investigations it was found that a sum of money had been removed. Mrs. Stones immediately notified the police and Constable Maloney, of Papatoetoe. was on the scene within a couple of minutes, but could find nothing of the intruder Marks of rubber-soled shoes were left on the varnished floor.
