FAREWELL EVENING
MR. D. WRATHALL IS ENTERTAINED AN EXCELLENT PROGRAMME | A very pleasant time was spent at j j St. Heliers when a farewell evening was given to Mr. Dudley Wrathall, i prior to his departure from Auckland, to take up a position with Station 4YA at Dunedin. The Peerless Hall was attractively decorated by Mesdames Hayes and A. Brookfield, the magnificent blooms given by Mr. Vickers, of St. Heliers, being especially beautiful. More than 250 people assembled for dancing and to enjoy the excellent musical pro- ! gramme contributed by Messrs. D. : Wrathall, A. Turner and Miss Youd. j Mr. Ivan Lambert acted as accomi pan is t. j Two presentations were made to | Mr. Wrathall during the evening. The ' tirst was a beautiful piece of indian : ware from the Musical and Literary • Society. The other was a suitcase, which was presented by Mr. Geo. j Campbell on behalf of the residents of I St. Heliers. After the last dance the Literary Society staged a very pretty farewell in costume, the chorus giving “Haera Ra.” Mr. Hart was M.C.
