UNIQUE MAORI CEREMONY
A unique Maori ceremony known as the “Tomo Ceremony” will take place in the new museum next Friday morning. This is the dedication of the big Maori meeting-hall whare, which is entitled Whare-Runanga Hotunui. All Maoris are invited to attend the ceremony, for which tickets must be obtained from the Akarana Maori Association office. MISS BERESFORD’S CONCERT A novel and enjoyable entertainment in aid of the bazaar funds will be given in the St. Benedict’s Hall next Saturday afternoon and evening. The programme is in the capable hands of Miss Beresford. AMBASSADOR, PT. CHEVALIER Another most enjoyable film programme will be presented at the Ambassador Theatre, Point Chevalier, this evening. The chief films will be “Lonesome,” one of the best comedies made by the inimitable Glenn Tryon, supported by Barbara Kent, which will be followed by a charming Irish story, starring Madge * Bellamy.
