EVENING CELEBRATION

CHORAL WEDDING ATKINSON—BERNARD On Wednesday evening, at Holy Trinity Church, Dargaville, the wedding took place of Aliss Enid Mabel Bernard, only daughter of Air. and Airs. C. E. Bernard, of Dargaville, to Air. Jack Kenyon Atkinson, son of Air. and the late Mrs. J. S. Atkinson, of Avondale. The Rev. J. C. Fussell olficiated. The church had been beautifully decorated for the occasion by Airs. AA r - Hilliam. The service was fully choral, Airs. B. S. Angus presiding at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, was charmingly frocked in a sleeveless model of ivory satin, with uneven hemline, and early Victorian bodice. From beneath a coronet of orange blossoms and silver tissue f \* a beautiful veil of tulle embroide in silver and arranged to form a cap. The bouquet was composed of roses and carnations. The Alisses Alma Tonkin and Ena. Finlayson, who acted as bridesmaids, wore dresses of eau de nil and primrose georgette, respectively. Both frocks were relieved with silver lace and featured the uneven hemline. Hats en suite were also worn, bouquets to tone being carried. Little Miss Lois Hilliam was prettily attired as a flower girl. Messrs. H. Wilkinson, of Te Kuiti, and Alan Bird, of Dargaville, acted as best man and groomsman, respectively. Airs. Bernard, mother of the bride, received a very large number of guests at the Alunicipal Hall. She wore a black crepe de chine frock relieved with primrose and hat to match. After the reception the bride and bridegroom left lor Whangarci, the bride’s travelling dress being of celanese with reseda celanese coat and hat to match. The young couple will tfceir future home at Te Kuiti.
