NEGLIGENT DRIVING FINE

TWO MEN APPEAR IN COURT Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. Two men, Rojr James Brown and Roy Walter George Campbell, were concerned in a collision on the Hutt Road between a motor-car in which they were riding and a motor-cyclist, Frederick George Everson, and which was the subject of a civil action in the Supreme Court this week before Mr. Justice MacGregor and a jury. Each was fined in the Magistrate’s Court today on a charge of negligent driving arising out of the accident. Everson In the Supreme Court claimed £1,013 damages from the Canadian Knight and Whippet Company, by whom Brown at the time of the accident was employed, but the evidence showed that at the time of the accident Campbell was driving the car and the plaintiff, on application of counsel for the company, was nonsuited. Campbell, driver of the car, was fined £5 and Brown £3.
