MOVE FOR PROTECTION OF PUBLIC AMENDMENT LOST Press Association PARLIAMENT BLDGS., Today. The Industries and Commerce Committee recommended that legislation, as proposed by the Minister of Industries and Commerce in relation to cash-order trading, should be introduced with certain amendments. Mr. A. Harris (Waitemata) said he hoped the legislation would not be introduced. Mr. W. E. Barnard (Napier) moved that the report be referred back to the committee for further consideration. The Hon. J. G. Cobbe said the recommendations were in the direction of protecting the public. The amendment was lost on the voices and the report laid on the table. The House adjourned at X p.m.
