AUCKLAND TRIO GIVES LAST CONCERT OF SEASON
THE demand for good music by A a section of the Auckland public is proved by the attendances at the concerts given in the Lewis Eady Hall by the Auckland Trio. Last Monday night there was scarcely a vacant seat in the hall. It was the last concert of the season, but judging by the success of the venture the concerts will be continued next year. The trio consists of Miss Ina Bosworth (violin), Miss Molly Wright (cello) and Mr. Cyril Towsey (piano). For the Elgar quintet, which was so enthusiastically received on its first presentation that it was repeated on Monday evening, they were assisted by Miss Lois Walls (violin) and Mr. Harold Baxter (viola).
Monday evening’s programme consisted of the Brahms trio in E Flat Major, the Elgar quintet and a delightful bracket of songs by Miss Berta Carr, which were all beautifully sung. The only charge for these concerts is a booking fee of one shilling a seat.
