MORRINSVILLE NOTES

While fixing a windmill last evening. Mr. Ken Ball, of the Norfolk Dairy Company's staff, sprained his ankle. Mr. Ball will be indisposed for some time. The weight-guessing competition held in conjunction with the Presbyterian Church bazaar on Monday was won by Mr. J. Crosby, of Morrinsville. who guessed the correct weight of the sheep (54£lb). Mr. Andrew McHardy, who has been a member of the Morrinsville railway station staff for some time, has received notice of his transfer to Whangarei. On Saturday evening the railway employees tendered Mr. McHardy a smoke concert. * * * Monday was observed as “bazaar day” in Morrinsville, when two sales of work and produce were held. The Presbyterian Church annual bazaar, which took place in the Strand Theatre realised nearly £9O. The Morrinsville District High School bazaar was held at the school and realised £46. A concert held by the church in the evening resulted in a profit of £ 20. * * * During last week two sections of Te Mimi Estate, which some months ago was offered to the Government, and refused, have been sold. Mr. J. Ritchie, a farmer from Otago, purchased a block of 198 acres with a new house, adjoining the farm occupied hy Mr. ,T. Scott, who recently purchased from Mr. H. Arndt. The second block was an area of 199 acres and included the homestead, it was purchased hy Mr. D. T. Davies, who recently sold his farm at Kereone.
