CHARMING SETTING

REMUERA BRIDE STURT—NAPIER An interesting: wedding- was celebrated at St. Aidan’s Church, recently, when Miss Isobel (Mamie) Napier, only daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. Thomas Napier, of Auckland, was married to Frederick, eldest son of Mrs. and the late Mr. S. G. Sturt. The ceremony was performed by Canon Strong, of New Plymouth. The bride, who was given away by

her brother, Mr. Kenneth Napier, looked charming: in a frock of cream satin, ankle-length, with a girdle of pearls. Her veil of Venetian lace was worn train-length and fell from a coronet of orange blossoms. A beautiful bouquet of lilies of the valley was carried. The effect was greatly enhanced by the setting, the church having been artistically arranged with roses and sweet peas in a pale shade of pink. In attendance on the bride were Miss Olga Sturt and Miss Kathleen Manning, the former wearing a frock of apricot georgette embroidered in gold, with a gold dutch cap, while Miss Manning wore pale green georgette with silver embroidery and silver dutch cap. Both carried bouquets to tone with their frocks. Mr. Norman Sturt fulfilled the duties of best man. Mr. Pat O’Halloran acting as groomsman. Mr. Elliot presided at the organ. A reception was afterward held at the home of the bride’s mother, 19 Ranui Road, where Mrs. Napier received the guests wearing a frock of navy ninon relieved with fawn, with hat to tone. She carried a bouquet of deep red roses and carnations. Mrs. Sturt wore a frock of beige georgette and lace, with hat to tone. ITer bouquet was of pale pink roses.
