ANCIENT INCA ART

Ancient vases, wrought by the Incas in years gone bv, and so fragile that ti,ev were packed for shipment in the centre of a system of air-cushions, were among the strange "props” used in filming “The Bridge of San Luis Rev.” . , The ancient vases, which came trom Peru, were lent to Charles Brabin, who directed the new by-play by Carlos Borcosque, noted Chilean writer, in whose family they have been for many years. They are fashioned of pottery heavily inlaid with soft gold, and through the passage of the years the cement has so weakened that only the most gentle handling has preserved them intact. “The Bridge of San Luis Rey” is a vivid drama of Peru, based on Thorn-* ton Wilder’s prize-winning novel. Raquel Torres, Dili Damita. Ernest Torrence, Jane Winton and other favourites are in the cast.
