BYRD’S BIRTHDAY

WELLINGTON’S GOOD WISHES Press Association WELLINGTON, Friday. Few people in Wellington were aware that Comander R. Byrd celebrated a birthday on October 25, but it was remembered by the Mayor, Mr. G. A. Troup, who sent the following radio message:—“Wellington sends greetings to the party; many happy returns of October 25.—Troup, Mayor.” Tho reply from the frozen wastes of the Antarctic, was: —“Appreciate Wellington’s birthday greetings. To you. your city officials and the people of Wellington, all good wishes from the inhabitants of Little America.— Richard Byrd.”
