COLLISION AT NEWMARKET
TRUCK HITS PARKED MOTOR While standing at the kerb in Alanukau Road, Newmarket, early yesterday afternoon, a light motor-car, which was struck l>y a heavy motor-lorry, was pushed a considerable distance along the footpath, forced through a £ stout wooden fence, and came to rest j against the side of a factory. t The motor-car, which is owned by Air. W. Dawkins, furniture manufac- -y turer, was standing outside his fac- = tory at the time of the accident. A r. heavy lorry, owned by Turners and Growers, Limited. was proceeding ( along the same side of the road when it struck the rear of the standing c vehicle with tremendous force. Fortunately at the time of the accident there was no one in the standing car and no pedestrian on the footpath. The light motor-car was extensively damaged. Both vehicles vfere . later towed away. c
