KILLED AT PARTY
BOY STRUCK BY TRIPOD Press Association TAUMARUNCr, Friday. An inquest concerning the death of Leonard William Bloomfield, aged nine, who died in the hospital on October 30 following injuries received at Otunui on October 14, was held today before Mr. A. S. Laird. John George Charles Leach, school teacher, Otunui. said that on October 14 he was at Mr. Lyons’s house working in one of the rooms. The children were holding a party outside and suddenly he heard a loud scream. On going out he found a plank lying across deceased’s legs. He made in quiries from the other children and they informed him that a tripod had fallen over and struck the lad. In his opinion it was an accident. The coroner returned a verdict -of death from meningitis, excited by injuries accidentally receives, at Ot-unui.
