Rural England Disappearing
ESTATES BECOME FARMS POPULATION VERY HAPPY Some of the loveliest parts of rural England are being rapidly subdivided. “Allotments for Sale” is the notice which is sticking out of almost every hedge. This disappearance of the English countryside is deplored by his Honour. Judge Scholes, of the Supreme Court of Australia, who returned from England yesterday afternoon by the Rangitiki. Some of the most lovely old estates were being subdivided into farms, and old rural England was fast disappearing. he thought.
