PREMIER’S SON IN DUEL
DEFENDED WOMAN’S HONOUR AGAINST COUNT GAOL FOR THREE DAYS Rood. 10 a.m. BUDAPEST, Tues. Andraes Bethlen, son of the Prime Minister, Count Stephen Bethlen de Bethlen, was sentenced to three days’ gaol for fighting a duel with a count who had insulted a cabaret girl. The public prosecutor requested clemency, because Bethlen had defended a woman’s honour, and social custom made the duel necessary.
