CROQUET AT HENDERSON
FOURTH SEASON OPENED Delightful weather conditions prevailed for the opening of the Henderson Croquet Club’s fourth season on Saturday. The first ball was played by Mrs. B. Carter, acting-president, who declared the greens opened. Committee members present were:— Mrs. Carter, vice-president; Mrs. R. Laurie, secretary; Mrs. Meiklejohn, Mrs. Land, Mrs. Canton, Mrs. Schramm, Mrs. T. Carter, Mrs. Sew’ell, Mrs. Pook. Among the visitors present were:— Mrs. Angus, Mrs. Perkins, Mrs. Bond, Mrs. Clai'idge, Mrs. Walrond (secretary, Glen Eden), Mrs. Franklin (Papatoetoe). Miss Bowman (Mount Albert). Progressive croquet was also played, the winners being Mrs. Franklin (Papatoetoe') in the A section, and Miss Bowman (Glen Eden) in the B section. A delightful afternoon tea was served by the committee.
