OLD STATION SITE
SUBDIVISION PROPOSAL SUGGESTION BY MAYOR j Subdivision, of the old railway station site, and the connection with Quay Street, was discussed by the Mayor, Mr. G. Baildon, in conference recently with the chairman of the | Harbour Board and the general rnanai ger of railways. Reporting to the City Council last , evening, Mr. Baildon said it had occurred to him that the tentative subdivisional plan already submitted to the council could be considerably improved in lay-out and in provision for traffic facilities. His suggestions appealed to the railways manager, who had now forwarded an amended plan divided in accordance with Mr. Baildon’s views. On the motion of the Mayor, the plan was referred to the Town Planning Committee for consideration. “If it is approved, I suggest that the committee confer with the Railway Department and the Harbour Board, and later submit a report to this council,” said Mr. Baildon. The report was adopted oil the motion of Cr. A. J. Entrican.
