ARBITRATION COURT

SITTINGS END TOMORROW Five weeks’ sittings of the Arbitration Court in Auckland will conclude tomorrow. An unusually heavy list of business has been put through by the court. Five industrial disputes, in which partial recommendations had been made by the Conciliation Council, were dealt with, and new awards issued. Awards were framed in two other disputes in which the parties reached complete agreement. Judgment was entered in 13 compensation cases, while nine applications for joining parties to awards and an appeal from the Magistrate’s Court were also put through. The last business to be heard today concerns apprentices.
