CLAY BIRD SHOOTING
METROPOLITAN GUN CLUB The Metropolitan Gun Club held a series of matches on its grounds at New Lynn on Saturday. A high wind made conditions rather trying, but some good shooting was witnessed. * T ’ v *ere was a large attendance of members. The first match, of seven birds each, was won by L. F. Ramsey with the possible. A second match, of 15 birds each, .for a trophy donated by Mr. C. A. Whitney, resulted in a tie between C. E. Hodge *( 17yds) and M. Delich (15yds), with 14 each. In the shootoff, Hodge won on the twentieth bird. G. H. Brown (17yds). R. 11. Bartley (15yds), P. X. Gallie (15yds), W. Hazard (13yds), each shot thirteen birds. The third match, a double rise sweepstake, was divided by W. Hazard (13yds), W. Macredie (11yds). C. E. Hodge (18yds). and A. E. Macredie (17yds), with eight birds each. The fourth match, of seven birds each, sweepstake, was divided by W. Hazard (13yds). A. Hannigan (15yds), and A. E. Macredie (17yds), each ' with the possible. MORRINSVILLE CLUB Results of a clay bird shoot held by the Morrinsville Gun Club on Saturday are as follow:—First sweep of ten birds each, W. Robertson and S. Parlour. with nine each, divided the prize. Second sweep of 10 birds each, Hodges' and C.A.C. trophies, final: A. Stuckey was first with 44 points; S. Parlour was second with 43 points. Third sweep of seven birds each: A. Aitkin, the possible; A. Stuckey, with six birds, was second. Fourth Sweep of seven birds each: W. Aitkin, the possible; A. Aitkin and W. Sharp, with six each, were second. Fifth sweep of seven birds each: A. Aitkin and W. Aitkin, with six each, divided the prize. Sixth sweep of eix birds each, gimrrack: A. Aitkin, J. Finlay, W. Aitkin, with five each, divided first prize. Seventh sweep of six birds each, gimcrack: A. Aitkin, J. P'inlay, W. Aitkin, with five each, divided first prize. Eighth sweep of six birds each, gimcrack: A. Aitkin, the possible; S. Parlour. R. W. Smith. J. Finlay, W. Aitkin, with five each, divided second money. Ninth sweep of.six birds each: A. Aitkin and W.
