GYMNASIUM FOR ROTORUA
(From Our Otvn Correspondent) ROTORUA, Today. A meeting, arranged by the Rotary Club, was held in St. John’s Hall last evening to consider forming a junior gymnasium. The Mayor. Mr. T. Jackson, presided, and referred to the benefits that would accrue from a gymnasium. Mr. H. Bertram also spoke of the physical benefits to be obtained and mentioned the fact that 50 girls and 30 boys were keen to join. Mr. M. H. Hampson suggested immediate action, calling on the townspeople to raise £250, to be subsidised by the Government on a £1 for £1 basis. A sub-committee, comprising Messrs. A. R. Ryder, E. T. Johnson and O H. Coleman, was appointed to confer with delegates from each of the sports organisations with the idea of setting up a general committee to carry on with the establishment of the gym- , nasium. J
